Großglockner High Alpine Road

Winding initially at a leisurely pace up to the top, then following the course of the natural subsurface, between lush mountain meadows, vibrant flower-filled pastures, rocky scree, ice and snow. The highest point of this mountain road is the Edelweißspitze, at just over 2500m. Numerous three-thousand metre mountains provide an astonishing view, but the biggest of them all is the Großglockner. At 3798m this impressive mountain towers over the entire region and at the same time is the highest summit in Austria. Every year the Großglockner High Alpine Road brings visitors from across the globe to the centre of the National Park.
