During the Quiksilver Teamweek we took a little look behind the work of the shapecrew on the Kitzsteinhorn. Its not only about good riders, filmers and photographers but you also need a creative, motivated and professional parkcrew to offer the infrastructure that is needed for projects like that. Stefan Plattner is a long time parkdesigner and build the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen for many years. This year he brought a lot of knowledge up to the Kitzsteinhorn and together with his team, he created one of the best snowparks in europe. Quiksilver Teamweek at the Kitzsteinhorn

Kitzsteinhorn - Freeride Route X1 - Ice Age

Auf 2.900 m, zwischen der Bergstation der Magnetköpflifte und der Talstation des Gletscher-Shuttles, finden Sie den besten Einstieg zur ICE AGE Route. Die ca. 2.000 m lange Route führt unterhalb der Gipfelbahn durch das gesamte Kar. Nach einem steilen Hang, folgt ein eher flacher Bereich, dann ein steiles Mittelstück, das in Piste Nr. 2 mündet, die zu den Sonnenkarbahnen führt. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The best access to the ICE AGE route is at 2.900m, between the top station of the Magnetköpfl lifts and the valley station of the glacier shuttles. This 1200m route runs under the Gipfel lift, through the entire cirque. After a steep slope there is a flatter incline which is followed by another steep slope in the middle of the run. This run then joins the no.2 piste which leads to the Sonnenkar lifts.
